The return of a king

A smile, a wave and i have played my part
The successful concealing of a shattered heart
For each single moment, shared between friends
The laughter, the tears, the the fruitless ends
This man that you see, and not anything more
Still clings to a moment of a time long before
Yet in his hands lies an emotional broom
The mess is now cleared, and not a moment too soon
Now clear of my presence and unnerving stare
Your head is held high as you dare not to care
If you know me well, then you know i wont wait
An effort, in vain, to challenge my fate
That is, to march through tomorrow, proud and alone
And return to my world, the same realm, the same throne
For my mind is a kingdom for which i am king
Although i wish for my queen, i need not a thing
