Rain Falling on Cinders
The rain falling on cinders is like the beating of my heart.
It's all erratic and sporadic while this is tearing me apart.
The black and blue that marks my arm will due for keeping me from other harm while all eyes are turned my way.
I've always craved their attention but I could have picked a better day.
I don't want anyone to see me,
I don't want anyone to know,
But now they all feel so bad and they'll never let this go.
The blood moon rising in a velvet sky sets the mood just right.
It says the war has just begun but I've already lost the fight.
The black and blue that marks my heart will keep on ripping me apart while everyone else forgets.
Looking back, I don't remember being happy and I'm left with only regrets.
I don't want anyone to see me,
I don't want anyone to know,
But now me heart is breaking and it's hard not to let it show.
