Sales Resistance
|
You suffocate me,
Masquerade as my friend,
Your lies frustrate me,
You lead me into sin,
You sell my soul to sensuality,
Plaguing me with this false reality.
You liar, deceiver,
Don't tell me what I need,
You liar, deceiver,
Surround sound slavery,
You liar, deceiver,
Violence, pornography,
You liar, deceiver,
You call that quality T.V.?
"I will reveal your nakedness," says the Lord,
You've made His job much easier?

The name of the poem is based on the C.S. Lewis quote, "There are people who wish to keep our sex instinct inflamed because, of course, a man with inflamed senses is a man with very little sales resistance." Anyway, this poem mocks T.V., what else can I say...
